Your privacy is important to The North American Conference of Associates and Religious, Inc. (NACAR). This statement discloses the information practices for the nacar.org website, including but not limited to what type of information is gathered and tracked, how the information is used, and with whom the information you give us is shared.
You can visit many parts of the NACAR Website without telling us who you are and without revealing any information about yourself. However, there are sections of the NACAR Website where we may need information from you, especially for NACAR members who are registered and have access to information for internal use among NACAR members and those connected with NACAR.
Sometimes, we may specifically ask for information about you when you participate in an opinion poll or survey or request information. We will need your name and email address in order to provide such services to you.
For members of NACAR, you or the Primary Contact will complete a registration form requesting your name, email address, physical address, religious congregation, prefix and suffix, title, whether you are an associate or religious, phone, and position. We collect this information in order to facilitate communication between NACAR and its members and among members of NACAR. If you register for an event or webinar, the registration information may be disclosed to third parties for the purpose of organizing the event or activity.
To participate as a member of NACAR, you agree to share this information with the NACAR membership administrator. If you are registered by your Primary Contact, you consent that the information needed may be given by the Primary Contact in order for you to participate as a member of NACAR.
Once you are registered, you may access your information and determine who may see that information outside of the NACAR membership administrator. Once you log into the website, click on your name at the top of the page, click on "Edit Profile," and then select the Privacy tab. There you may select what information will be shared with whom.
We will share information with third parties in response to formal requests (e.g. subpoena or court order) made in connection with litigation or arbitration proceedings to protect NACAR rights and property, or during emergencies when we believe physical safety is at risk. Of course, what you write or post in public in comments or on discussion boards may be available either to NACAR, NACAR members, and/or to the public.
Children have rights too
While we do not have specific information on our Websites geared toward children, we encourage parents or guardians to participate in your child's experience on the Web and to review the United States’ Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. Like many Web sites, we use "cookies" and log files to obtain certain types of information when your Web browser accesses certain sections of NACAR Website.
Information you can access
The Freedom of Information Act and the Privacy Act of 1974 provide you certain rights to get information about you that is in our records. We will make a sincere effort to respond in a timely manner to your requests or to correct inaccuracies in your personal information. To correct inaccuracies in your personal information please send an email message containing the inaccuracies to firstname.lastname@example.org.
